Take Over sundays
Mothers’ Union members were encouraged during our 150th year, to dispel the idea of MU being the churches best kept secret and to talk to their clergy about focusing a Sunday service on Mary Sumner and the work of Mothers’ Union.

| St Francis, West Bessacarr Takeover service. The day was a tribute to the Mothers’ Union and the whole church was involved.The service was followed by a Picnic with games and entertainment, |

| St Catherine of Siena held their service at Shrewsbury Hospital Estate Chapel as their church is closed for repairs. Members chose the hymns, read the lessons and chose and read the prayers. In place of a sermon a presentation on the role and work of the Mothers' Union was given. |

Wath All-Saints’ Mothers’ Union celebrated with members doing the welcome, the readings and the inter-sessions. A loved and respected member, Joyce Foster had died recently, and her family had given the branch some money to do something in her honour. This took the form of a Mothers’ Union 150th Anniversary kneeler. |

| Whiston St Mary Branch planned the Communion Service and chose 3 hymns, prepared a booklet, MU members welcome parishioners, introduced and ran the service with our Oversight Minister, Karen Skidmore presiding. |

| Abbeydale St John’s take over service was attended by both St John’s and Millhouses MU members. The talk, prayers and readings were given by some of Abbeydale’s members. It was a real team effort guided by Rev. Nicholas Noble our Priest in Charge. |
