Membership

Branch members – these are members who are attached to a branch – they can be Individual members or IMPC members. We have Branches in the 5 Deaneries of Sheffield Diocese : Doncaster, Snaith, Hatfield and Adwick (DASH), Ecclesall& Attercliffe (Ecc&Att), Ecclesfield, Rotherham & Laughton, Tankersley and Wath Deanery.

Diocesan members are Individual members who choose not to be attached to a branch and our Diocesan members coordinator keeps  them in touch with Mothers’ Union activities. Diocesan members are invited to join branches nearby, when they can, or Diocesan activities.

Indoor Members  are IMPC members because they can no longer get to branch meetings maybe because of timing or perhaps they are less mobile or their branch has closed. You don’t have to be ‘old’ to be an IMPC member! We have Branch IMPC members or Sheffield IMPC members- these members branch has closed but we still keep in touch with them.

 

Indoor Member Prayer Circle IMPC

 

Indoor Members’ Prayer Circle was started in 1921 by Mrs. Edith Lucy Mosse, originally for any member who, for any reason, was prevented from taking part in the activities of their local branch but wanted to support and pray for the leaders and the work of the organisation. You can read more here

Our IMPC Representative keeps in touch with all our IMPC members by sending cards for Christmas and birthdays along with letters from the Worldwide President or our Diocesan Chaplain or President as well as keeping them informed of what is going on in Sheffield Diocese.  

When we hold Mothers’ Union Services we place our IMPC Members book on a table at the front of the church with a lighted candle. It contains the names of all our Indoor members so that when we are all together they will feel very much included in all that we do.

If any Mothers’ Union member would like to join Indoor members you can either download the application form from the Branch Resources page or ask any Deanery Leader for a form. You will be very warmly welcomed.

Loving heavenly Father, Lord of all the world,

You know the secret houghts of every heart

And hear the prayers of all.

You have chosen us to work for you and be as one in prayer.

Guide us in our prayerful task and strengthen us to do your will

Uphold us in our weakness and our doubt that those for whom

we intercede may truly come to know your healing peace and love.

We ask in Jesus’ name your only Son, our Lord
